A lifelong fan of emerging technologies, Sameer found his flow in the video game industry working on mobile games from their onset, including titles such as Plants vs. Zombies and Bejewelled. Now Sameer uses his design, development, and management skills while building the best workout product on the market. At FitXR, Sameer loves combining immersive technology and AI to create unique personalised experiences that put the fun into fitness.
Sam draws on his experience from consulting and private equity to drive FitXR forward into the uncharted lands of fit tech. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Sam was always enchanted by the prospect of building a company. Meeting Sameer at business school kick-started that dream. A lover of all things fitness, Sam is excited to develop a product that will help people access professional workouts, and build healthier communities around the world.
Richard is a software-development veteran with 30 years’ experience. Before joining the FitXR team, but after completing his physics degree, Richard ran his own software company for 18 years. It was there he designed an extremely popular email software suite. He’s the founder of game-maker Freekstorm and is responsible for the critically acclaimed indie game Doctor Kvorak’s Obliteration Game, which has been successfully ported to VR.
For over 20 years, Mark has seen the games industry go through many different evolutions and business models. Originally studying Graphic Design, Mark resumed his passion for gaming since his first computer (a Sinclair Spectrum) by working in QA, Level Design and then Game Design. Mark has worked for many big names in the industry, from Batman developer RockSteady, to Sony owned Media Molecule to Activision King. Mark practises a simple life by learning to build, agriculture and long walks in the countryside. Mark believes that technology should be used in a real world beneficial way to enable people to live a healthier life.
QA / Community Manager
Starting in the ' UK's Hollywood of Video Games', Guildford, Chris began his career as QA at Lionhead Studios, Electronic Arts and Edge Case Games. It was here that Chris began honing skills in Community Management to ensure that the communities he was looking after were being heard while also keeping them up to date on the latest changes and development progress. Chris’ main motivation for joining FitXR was knowing that he would be part of something to provide people with fun while also providing real-world benefits on the side. He regularly enjoys going for long walks, reading and cooking from scratch.
Toby is a passionate game developer and gamer with over ten years experience in the industry. He's worked on a wide variety of projects from Hollywood movie licenses at Blitz Games to medical applications and created his own Wingsuit game for mobile. Away from the keyboard he's always up to something, from surfing, snowboarding, freediving and most recently aggressive quad skating.
Paul has been working as a front line programmer in the games industry for over 25 years. He has worked on over 40 titles in that time, including several high profile projects for Sony, Eidos and SCi. He performs multiple roles at FitXR, primarily as our backend and DevOps engineer, but also lends his hand to gameplay when required. Paul is passionate about gaming, wheeled sports and the arts. He is an avid cyclist, a well-known member of the digital arts subculture known as the _Demo Scene_ and also considers himself part of the Maker community. He is also a competent mechanic and is building his own Kit Car.
Tolis comes from a musical background with studies in composition and piano performance. His interest in creating audio-visual experiences culminated to writing, directing and choreographing an electronic music opera for his bachelors degree. After discovering the numerous creative possibilities of immersive technologies, his learning focus shifted towards game programming. He recently completed his masters degree in Computing Science (ICL) before joining FitXR. Tolis has now found a great place where he can contribute to the creative process of the company's music-based applications by drawing from both engineering and musical backgrounds.
After originally studying Industrial Design, Mark found his way into the Games Industry and over the years has worked on everything from mobile to AAA console titles. With a broad skill set, Mark has worked on concepts, props, environments, VFX and more. At Lionhead Studios he worked on the BAFTA award wining Fable series, and more recently has been exploring new challenges with FitXR. As an avid gym goer and snowboarder, Mark enjoys bringing his passion for Visual Development to the virtual world of fitness.
Head of Marketing
Shelly has 20+ years experience in marketing and communications. Starting her career in the games industry she held various marketing and PR roles at Nintendo, working on the launches of Wii, WiiU, Nintendo 3DS and its full portfolio of software including Mario, Pokemon, Wii Fit and Brain Training. Shelly then joined AI and Robotics start up, Anki where she set up and ran all marketing across EMEA for Anki Overdrive, Cozmo and Vector. She is excited to be building a brand the merges, technology, fitness and gaming to make exercise fun for everyone.
Bea has been interested in video games since she was a child. She studied a degree in Design and Development of Video Games with specialisation of Programming. She's worked in different indie studios related to different areas always trying to be close the video game industry. She has worked on different areas on digital entertainment, for example Augmented Reality for educational apps, some Augmented reality projects for the leading game retailer GAME and some other indie mobile video game companies such as Good Catch Games and Codigames.
She enjoys reading books, comics, watching movies or TV shows, but one her biggest passions is fitness.
Starting his career over 25 years ago within the music, film & television industries Chris has worked on over 80 released projects including multiple Bafta and Academy Award winning titles. Joining the games industry full-time in 2008 Chris became a board director of a number of high profile games developers before moving into international management of games and consumer electronics.
